Mithila Madhubani Art by SK Wishes Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays! As we approach the end of 2020 and the winter holidays, despite a challenging year, the holiday mood sets in and it is time to take a short break. Stay safe and enjoy :)

Mithila or Madhubani art being the traditional folk art from my native place, is very special to me. I have seen it being done in my family and social circle while growing up. It is a traditional art form, primarily a form of wall art. Paintings were created on walls and as floor decorations. Having been a student of fine art, I like to explore different art forms and folk arts, the complexity within their simplicity intrigue me.

While my recent artwork have been more of abstract and semi-abstract, I also explored Mithila/ Madhubani art. However, fine art and folk art being considered two completely different areas, I decided to create a separate Facebook page for Mithila / Madhubani art.
